About us
At the heart of Call to Prayer we are working to enable, encourage and facilitate prayer. The Call to Prayer team was commissioned at the instigation of Transforming Norwich on 2 April 2008. Jane Holloway, National Prayer Director from the World Prayer Centre in Birmingham was guest speaker at the service, when she said that this was the first time in her experience that a prayer movement had received official recognition by the local body of Christ in this way.
This marked a definite change of gear, and since then the team has grown to 18 members as different initiatives have taken off.
In April 2009 we were awarded charitable status (Charity No 1127275).
The structure of Call to Prayer is as follows:
Director: Jill Gower
Trustees: Revd Madeline Light, Gail Halley, Lorie Lain-Rogers, Colin Bain (Hon Treasurer)
Advisers: John & Doreen Betts, Theresa Cumbers
Additional team members: Ian Ashton, Robbie Bain, Irene Braden, Val Chipperfield, Roy & Karen Floyd, Hilda Gordon, Colin & Jo Grey, Penny Jones, Brian Lee, Beth Simmons, Anne Mary Stubenbord, Helen Watkins and Annabel Valentine
